Ryan Alexander Malone, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 27, 2018, from injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident. He was 44 years old.
Ryan was born on November 6, 1973 in Indianapolis. He graduated from Southport High School. Ryan began his career as a firefighter with the Lawrence Township Fire Department. After serving as a firefighter for nearly 7 years he decided to go back to school to complete his degree. He graduated from IUPUI and began a career in healthcare information services. He really enjoyed his new career path and many of his co-workers at Eskenazi Health IS became like family to him.
Ryan’s favorite thing was spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed hosting family parties. He loved playing and coaching baseball. He also loved playing poker, cooking, fishing, playing his guitar, reading and spending time outdoors. He also really enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds and spending time at the beach. Ryan was very proud of his family and was a fierce protector. He was a loving, caring and generous soul. Words cannot describe how much he is missed.
He is survived by his wife, Brandi; Children, Myles, Olivia, Peyton and Sophia; Parents, Michael and Cathy Maxwell; Siblings, Jenny (Mike) Gamble, Jason (Nickole) Maxwell, Jennie (White) Culp (his brother David and sister Amanda preceded him in death); Grandfather, James H. Downs; as well as an abundance of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 5:00 pm with a Celebration of Life reception immediately following. The address is 1215 S. Franklin Road, Indianapolis, IN 46239.
Dress is casual. Please feel free to wear your Los Angeles Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds or Pittsburgh Steelers gear in honor of Ryan’s favorite teams.

I met Ryan freshman year of high school, freshman English class, first period. We sat next to each other. From that moment forward he was never anything but nice to me. And funny. I saw him at our 20 year reunion and he was the exact same. Such a sad loss.
